The head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is vowing that Democrats will enshrine the protections of Roe v. Wade in federal law if they take back the House majority in November.
“In this election, we’re fighting for our rights, our freedoms, our families, and Republicans keep making clear that they’re willing to do anything to rip those away,” Rep. Suzan DelBene (D-Wash.), the DCCC chairwoman, told reporters in a virtual meeting Monday. “The [DCCC] remains committed to supporting candidates who are going to stand up for our freedoms and our families, and hold Republicans accountable for doing the opposite. Come November, we’ll take back the House of Representatives to enshrine the protections of Roe once and for all.”
